The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) is a unique example of an international institute of higher education. These were the remarks of Prof. Young S. Chai, Dean College of Engineering, Yeungnam University, Korea during a visit to AIT on 10 February 2011.

Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 7 February 2011 with India’s Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHIATS) for strengthening partnership and possible long-term collaboration.

Nanotechnology will impact society in profound ways and alter the way people live. From cosmetics to sportswear, healthcare to fashion, and agriculture to green technologies, almost anything and everything in our world has the potential to be touched to some degree by the emerging applications of nanotechnology.

A nail biting sudden death winning shot helped AIT President’s team win the football match against the AIT Student Union team on 31 January 2011. Tied 2-2 at the end of the game, the match was decided with a penalty shootout which was won by the President’s team by two goals to one.

United Group of Institutions (UGI) has proposed short term student and faculty visits to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). Student exchange programs will include undergraduate and graduate students from engineering as well as management streams.

Bank of Bhutan, which is the largest and oldest bank in Bhutan, is exploring ways to partner with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) for upgrading the skills of its employees. This was the sentiment expressed by Mr. Karma Tshering, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Bank of Bhutan, during a visit to AIT on 28 January 2011.
