'Developing Local Indicators of Sustainability for the Water Supply System in Makassar, Sulawesi, Indonesia'

Organized by the Urban Environmental Management Field of Study, Urban Environmental Engineering and Management Program, SERD, on Tuesday, 21 November from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The seminar will be held in Room E-109A, SERD Building.

The keynote speaker is Ms. Marlene Doyle, a graduate student of Environment and Resource Studies at the University of Waterloo in Canada.

All interested persons are welcome.

The seminar will cover the following: Background to the water supply system in Indonesia, specifically Makassar; Key characteristics and problems concerning the water supply system; Methods of identifying locally appropriate indicators in cooperation with stakeholders; Presentation of the indicators identified; and Applicability of the research to a broader context

About Ms. Doyle:
After completing her Bachelor's degree in Biology at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, Ms. Doyle travelled to Indonesia to work as a volunteer with the Canadian Crossroads International. She has since worked with the University of New Brunswick, Saint John as a market researcher in Mexico.
Ms. Doyle is currently completing her masters thesis in Environment and Resource Studies at the University of Waterloo. Her thesis research in Indonesia is supported by the Canadian Environmental Program in Indonesia.
