Seminars, Workshops and Conferences
July 23 - 24, 2003: A seminar/workshop on 'Geoenvironmental Engineering - Georisk and Mass Movements' will be organized by the Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering field of study under the leadership of Dr. Ulrich Glawe with sponsorship from the Asian-Link Programme of the European Commission. The seminar will be held at the Windsor Suites Hotel at 8 Sukhumvit Soi 18 -20, Bangkok.
Topics to be discussed include: Mass Movements as a Geohazard, Mass Movement Research Activities in Thailand, Phenomenology and Geotechnics of Large-Scale Landslides, Monitoring Techniques for Instable Slopes, Recent Developments in Mass Movement Research in Europe, Comparison of Landslide Triggering Mechanism in Humid and Arid Climates, Practice of Remediation Technologies for Instable Slopes, and Probabilistic Slope Stability Assessment.
