Workshop focuses on power system reliability
The Electric Power System Management Field of Study, SERD and the Electric Power Reliability and Power Quality Research Center of Seoul National University, Korea will jointly organize a training workshop on 'Power System Reliability in Competitive Market Environment.' The event will be held from 27 February to 1 March 2006 at Room B202, AIT Conference Center, AIT.
The main topics at the training workshop will be as follows:
- Power system operation under competitive environment
- Asset management and investment planning
- Reliability issues in deregulated power systems
- Reliability-based transmission pricing
- Electricity market models for developing countries
- Power quality issues in deregulated power system
- Active load management
- Probabilistic reliability assessment tools
- Demonstration of probabilistic reliability assessment tools
- Market design and gaming in competitive electricity market
- Technical visit to district cooling system and power plant company limited, Suvarnabhumi Airport
Participation and Accommodation
Attendees are requested to register for the training in advance. The registration fee is US$250 (10,000 Baht) per participant. For attendees from government agencies, state enterprises, universities or AIT alumni, the registration fee is US$200 (8,000 Baht). For students, the registration fee is US$150 (6,000 Baht).
Accommodation can be arranged at AIT Conference Center or a hotel near AIT upon request of participant.
