School of Management trains leaders for Ansell Ltd.

The module was presided by Program Director, Dr. Sundar Venkatesh from School of Management. HR Director Asia Pacific, Ansell Ltd. Jon Nolan attended the opening session and expressed his confidence that the participants would make best use of the module. Dr. Venkatesh requested the participants to make the module useful and lively through interaction with the experts representing various domains of business.

The second of three modules in a leadership development program conducted by the School of Management for up and coming managers of Ansell Limited recently concluded.

Ansell Limited is an Australian-based corporation that specializes in health-care barrier protection products.

Participants in the program include 18 managers from Ansell's operations in the United States, Europe, Australia, Malaysia and Thailand. They represent a variety of functions, including manufacturing, finance, human resources, research and development, and sales and marketing.

The first module of the program was held in September 2005 under the theme of 'The Challenge of Understanding the Self: The Individual as the Manager and as a Person' at Rama Gardens Hotel, Bangkok, and Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy, Nakorn Nayok.

Recently, the second module, 'Globalization and its Impact on Managing Business,' took place at Siam City Hotel, Bangkok, from 6 to 10 February 2006. The module consisted of presentations and discussion on the economics of globalization, arguments for and against globalization, strategy in a global context, market entry strategies and execution, global financial markets and corporate financial decision in a global context, ethical dilemmas facing global managers, strategic human resource management in a global context and global leaders.

The third and final module of the program will be organized from 24 to 28 April 2006 on the theme of 'Managing Inter-organizational Relationships,' with presentations and sessions dealing with investor relationship management, managing outsourcing, joint ventures, evolving corporate government relationships for the 21st century, non-governmental organizations and corporate relationship management, and customer relationship management.
