Workshop to help create futures with a difference
The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Center for Technology Foresight and the National Science and Technology Development Agency will organize a workshop on 'Creating Futures with a Difference: Tools and Methods for Futures-Oriented Policymaking' on 6-8 September 2006 at the Pathumwan Princess Hotel, Bangkok. The speaker will be Prof. Sohail Inayatullah , one of the world's leading researchers on the future. More information of Prof. Inayatullah can be found on http://www.metafuture.org/index.html.
The three-day workshop will explore new methods and tools from the emerging discipline of Future Studies and seeks to challenge the 'business-as-usual' future and the policy framework that upholds it. Case studies of future-oriented policy making will be drawn from a variety of governmental, university, corporate, and NGO environments.
