UNESCO Directors to lecture on opportunities for collaboration

On 21 September 2006, two UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Directors, Prof. Dr. Richard Meganck, Director/ Rector of UNECSO - IHE, Delft, the Netherlands and Prof. Dr. Huub Gijzen, Director, UNESCO Jakarta Office, Jakarta, Indonesia, will deliver special lectures at the Milton E. Bender, Jr., Auditorium, starting at 2:00 p.m.

The event will start with an opening remarks by Prof. Sudip Rakshit, AIT vice president - research, followed by an introduction of the guest speakers to the AIT community by Prof. Dr. Khin Ni Ni Thein, Chief, Sustainable Water Management section, Division of Water Sciences, UNESCO and AIT vice president - external relations.

From 2:10 to 2:40 p.m., Prof. Dr. Richard Meganck will give a presentation on 'UNESCO-IHE and the potential for collaboration with AIT'. From 2:40 – 3:10 p.m., Prof. Dr. Hubert Gijzen will present a lecture on 'Windows of opportunities for UNESCO-AIT collaboration in the Asian region'.
