The AIT SEA-UEMA Project will hold a networking event at WUF 4 Can Universities Make a Difference in Building Sustainable Cities in Nanjing, China in Room MR 206 on 5 November 2008, 4:30 p.m.About the event:   In today's dynamic environment, academics have began to reach out beyond the hallowed halls of academia, applying technical know-how to improve lives, strengthen communities and create livable cities. In this context, the Southeast Asia Urban  Environmental Application (SEA-UEMA) Project offers its experiences to highlight lessons learned on how academic institutions can create meaningful partnerships with various stakeholders and organizations beyond its confines to effect lasting change in urban environment management, specifically in Southeast Asia.

Who should come:  Urban Environmental Managers, Planners, Stakeholders, Policymakers, Academics,Researchers,  Community Leaders and Organizers, NGOs, Students and those interested in further strengthening the bond between the academe and the development world

About the Project:  The SEA-UEMA Project is a partnership of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)  and the Asian Institute of Technology AIT) in Thailand. It aims to contribute to the improvement of urban environmental  conditions in Southeast Asia covering Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam. It is engaged in three key urban environmentalsub-sectors: water and sanitation, solid waste, and air pollution.
