Francisco Gutierrez is Senior Vice President for Medicine & Health Sciences for Laureate Education, Inc. Recently, he was the Chief Consultant for Health Navigation in Washington, D.C., a highly specialized consultancy Firm dedicated to provide strategic and operational advice to health care companies, universities, pharmaceutical firms, and governments worldwide. Dr. Gutierrez has over sixteen years of experience in the health care field and more than thirteen in Health Sciences and healthcare consulting. His clients are among the most important health and higher-education entities in the different countries where he has worked.
 

Dr. Gutierrez is the former Director of PricewaterhouseCoopers Health Care Consulting Practice in Washington, D.C. where he was responsible from 1997 to 2001 for the oversight and development of the Firm’s International Health Care Practice. Prior to joining PricewaterhouseCoopers, Dr. Gutierrez served as a Vice President of the Harris Methodist Health System in Texas (now Texas Health Resources) working for their prominent health plan. He has held senior management positions at several hospitals and outpatient care facilities, and has had a private primary care clinical practice as well.

 
His recent consulting experience encompasses numerous engagements (including several Fortune 100 companies) for the carrier, provider, payor, university, and pharmaceutical segments in the US, Latin America, Central Europe, and Southeast Asia involving the following areas:

Dr. Gutierrez received his Medical Doctor Degree from the University of Mexico. He holds a Master’s Degree in Health Management from the School of Business at the same university, and a Master’s Degree in Health Finance and Management from The Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.

He is an advanced member of the American College of Physician Executives, and a recognized speaker in international health care on issues related to innovation, standardization, and practical solutions for the care delivery models of today’s health care systems.
