The seminar is being jointly organized by AIT, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Thailand, and Institute for Transport Policy Studies, Japan.
The seminar will be jointly delivered by Dr. Surya Acharya, Dr. Shobhakar Dhakal, and Dr. Stefan Bakker, all co-editors of three recently published books.
Dr. Surya Acharya, Senior Research Fellow, Institute for Transport Policy Studies, Tokyo, Japan will deliver a talk on “Mobility in Asian Megacities: Turning Challenges into Opportunities.” Dr. Acharya is co-editor of the book titled “Transport Development in Asian Megacities” published by Springer in 2013

Dr. Shobhakar Dhakal, Associate Professor in Energy, AIT will deliver a talk on “Low Carbon Transport and Co‐benefits in Asia in Era of Rapid Urbanization.” Dr. Dhakal is co-editor of a book titled “Low Carbon Transport in Asia: Strategies for Optimizing Co-benefits,” which was published by Routledge in 2011 (http://www.routledge.com/books/details/9781844079155/).
Dr. Stefan Bakker, team leader of Project Transport and Climate Change, ASEAN-German Technical Cooperation, GIZ will deliver a talk on “Low‐carbon Land Transport Policies.” Dr. Bakker is co-editor of a book titled “Low‐Carbon Land Transport: Policy Handbook,” published by Routledge in 2013 (http://www.routledge.com/books/details/9781849713771/).
