Symposium on Geomatics to be held 14 Feb.
As a follow-up activity of AIT President Said Irandoust's trip to Korean universities and companies in October 2005, and as a result of the meeting with the president of the Geographic Information System Society of Korea, Prof Lee, AIT are preparing the Asia Pacific Symposium on Geomatics to be held at AIT on 14 February 2006 at the AIT Conference Center.
The symposium is jointly organized by the Korean Society of Surveying, Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography and AIT to discuss the remote sensing-related work done at AIT and in Korea, to establish long-term relationships and to propose joint projects to follow.
Up to 20 Korean experts from different organizations will participate.
All interested in participating in the symposium are encouraged to contact Dr. Nitin Tripathi of Remote Sensing & Geographic Information Systems (RS&GIS;) Field of Study and Dr. O. Shipin, Environmental Engineering and Management field of study, School of Environment, Resources and Development and submit three-page papers (single spaced, 12-point font) to be selected for presentations by 4 February and to be printed as proceedings in Korea prior to the symposium.
