12 September: Yoga

Yoga classes will be held every Wednesday, starting Wednesday 12 September, at the Language Center, Room 236, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The type of yoga featured is called Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. It consists of exercises or postures (asanas) with specialized breathing (pranayama), hand and finger gestures (mudras), body locks (bhandas), chanting (mantras) and meditations, together or in sequence to create exact, specific effects. Classes will be taught by Marie-France Champagne, a certified kundalini yoga teacher who has practiced yoga for the past ten years.

There is no set class fee but participants are required to make a donation. No prior practice of yoga is required: beginners as well as more experienced students are welcome. Participants are advised to wear loose exercise clothes and bring an exercise mat.
