Abstract
The effectiveness of the research in a competitive knowledge centric world largely depends on one’s ability to effectively acquire, creatively adapt and speedily convert innovations into tangible benefits. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) occupies a centre stage in applied research that leads to technology development. The seminar is designed to expose participants to basics of IPR, and approaches to effectively utilise patents to enhance research in the field of nanotechnology. The seminar is designed to enable participants to internalize IPR as an inseparable entity in their learning. The seminar will comprise of lectures and practical training through interesting case studies.
About Prof. Siddharth Jabade:
Prof. Siddharth Jabade is Professor (Mechanical Engineering Department) and Coordinator of Intellectual Property Rights Facilitation Centre of Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune, India. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay. He is a qualified patent agent at the Indian Patent Office and is deeply involved in drafting and prosecuting patent applications of diverse companies in India and abroad. He has been resource person to World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO). He has published several papers and holds patents as well. He is leading IPRinternalise TM programme at VIT Pune and other educational institutions. He is visiting faculty at the Institute of Intellectual Property Studies (IIPS) Mumbai, India.
