Workshop on “Enhancing the groundwater management capacity in Asian cities through the development and application of groundwater sustainability index in the context of global change”


A major objective of this workshop is to share the knowledge of groundwater environment of selected cities; discuss on the framework of Driver-Pressure-State-Impact-Response (DPSIR) and Groundwater Sustainability Index (GSII).

The regional workshop is an activity planned under the project supported by Asia Pacific Network for Global Change (APN) and jointly implemented by Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand; Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), Japan; and International Research Center for River Basin Environment (ICRE), University of Yamanashi, Japan. Participants of the workshop include groundwater researchers and managers from eight countries.
