Workshop on ‘Enhancing the groundwater management capacity in Asian cities through the development and application of groundwater sustainability index in the context of global change’


This is the concluding workshop in the project supported by Asia Pacific Network for Global Change (APN) and jointly implemented by Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand; Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), Japan; and International Research Center for River Basin Environment (ICRE), University of Yamanashi, Japan.[http://www.apngw.ait.ac.th/].

The workshop will specifically focus on sharing the outputs and reports of application of groundwater sustainability index using different indicators which was derived based on the suggestions and comments from the first regional workshop. Based on the outputs/report, a set of recommendations will be formulated in the workshop for the improved groundwater management in each city. Participants of the workshop are groundwater managers and researchers from eight different countries.
