International Symposium on Environmental Flow and Water Resources Management

An ‘International Symposium on Environmental Flow and Water Resources Management’ is being organized by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Tokyo Institute of Technology (TIT) on 30-31 October, 2014.
This symposium aims to provide an opportunity to share and discuss current problems, good management practices, and advanced knowledge and techniques on environmental flow in rivers, contributing to realize sustainable management of rivers and basin environments under conditions with several anticipated demands and climate change.

The following themes will be presented and discussed in the symposium:

  • Environmental flow
  • Climate change impacts and adaptation in water
  • Hydrology and hydraulics related to environmental flow
  • Stream ecology and its conservation/restoration
  • Water quality related to reservoir and stream flow
  • Water resources management for environmental flow
  • Water environment management at regional and basin scale
  • Policy and legal aspects of water resources management
