A special lecture on “Washington Consensus or Developmental State?” will be delivered by Prof. Trevor Parfitt of University of Nottingham, Malaysia on16 September 2015 from 1300-1500 hours in Room E206, School of Environment, Resources and Development.About Prof Trevor Parfitt:

Prof Trevor Parfitt is incharge of the MSc programme in International Development Management of the University of Nottingham's Malaysia campus (UNMC). Professor Parfitt is a well-known development theorist who has a long list of publications, including the seminal book “The End of Development?: Modernity, Post-Modernity and Development” published by Pluto Press.

He has extensive experience of research/monitoring/evaluation/training work in various parts of Africa, the Middle East, South East Asia and the UK. He has acted as an advisor to various development agencies and government, and an impressive 30 year experience as an effective teacher at numerous institutions across the field of Development and International Political Economy.
