An introductory social business workshop titled “Social Business 101 – Empowering Social Entrepreneurs” will be organized from 1-4 May 2013 at the AIT Conference Center. The workshop is intended to serve as a crash course in social business for NGOs, SMEs, academia, corporate sector or private.

 A Career Fair is being organized by AIT’s Career Center on 24 April 2013 from 0900-1700 hours at the AIT Conference Center.On the agenda will be job placements, internship opportunities, career advice, on-the-job training, partnership opportunities and networking with representatives of company and organizations.

 A five-day training workshop on “Iterative Risk Management for Climate Change Adaptation” is being organized by Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System for Africa and Asia (RIMES), a partner of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) from 22-26 April 2013 at the AIT campus.

AIT has signed a new contract with European Union to implement the project titled “Sustaining and Enhancing the Momentum for Innovation and Learning Around the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) in the Lower Mekong River Basin” (total cost of action 3.4 million Euro for 5 years).

An inception and planning workshop of the project “Sustaining and Enhancing the Momentum for Innovation and Learning Around the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) in the Lower Mekong River Basin” will be organized from 9-12 April 2013 at the Conference Center of the Asian Institute of Technology.

The seminar is being jointly organized by AIT, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Thailand, and Institute for Transport Policy Studies, Japan. The seminar will be jointly delivered by Dr. Surya Acharya, Dr. Shobhakar Dhakal, and Dr. Stefan Bakker, all co-editors of three recently published books.

A seminar on 'Media Planning under Uncertainty: Analyzing the Impact of Reach and Cost Error on Schedule Performance' will be delivered by Dr. Peter de Maeyer on 22 March 2013 at 1400 hours at Lecture Room 108, School of Management.Dr. Peter De Maeyer is an Assistant Professor of Marketing, Lee Kong Chiang School of Business, Singapore Management University.

A special lecture on “Strategy and efforts to develop markets and policies for new sanitation products” will be delivered by Dr. Alix Zwane, Senior Program Officer, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on 22 March 2013 from 1100-1200 hours at the Milton E. A talk on career opportunities with Alpha Founders will be delivered by Mr. Johannes von Rohr, Managing Partner, Alpha Founders on 22 March 2013 from 1000 hours at Lecture Room 108, School of Management.About the speaker:Johannes is a tech entrepreneur, consultant and investor.

Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF) will be organizing an ICT Emergency Response Training from 19-23 March 2013 at the AIT Conference Center. The training program has been funded by the European Commission, and it will involve 25 participants from 18 different aid organizations (UN, Red Cross and INGOs) from nine Asian countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines.
