Second training workshop on Bilan Carbon® methodology and tool for calculating Green House Gases (GHS) emissions will be organized at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) from 09-13 March 2011. The last date of registration is 21 February 2011 and a maximum of 14 participants will be invited for the training program.

An orientation program for new employees shall be held at the Board Room of the AIT administration building on 8 March 2011 from 10.00 – 14.00 hours. AIT will celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March 2011 by organizing a range of activities. The AIT Student Union Culture and Gender Committee will take the lead in organzing “purple day” and a signature campaign to ensure a better, equal and a safe future for girls.

The last installment of the academic collection of late Prof. W.J.Yang of University of Michigan would be handed over to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on 7 March 2011. The academic collection, which comprises of books and monographs among others, will be handed over by the widow Prof.

 Dr. Rafiul Ahad, Vice President, Collaboration Product Development, Oracle Corporation will be delivering a talk on "Cloud computing: What, Why, and How" on 14 February 2011 at the Milton E. Dr. Rafiul received his doctorate in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles in 1985, M.S. degree in Computer Applications from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok in 1980, and M.S. degree in Computer Science from the Rangoon University, Burma in 1975.Abstract: Cloud computing has the potential for reducing software development, test, and deployment costs for enterprises.

Télécom Sans Frontières (TSF) is organizing an ICT Emergency Response Training at the AIT Conference Center from 7-11 February 2011.Twenty nine participants from 22 aid organizations from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will take part in the training.
