About the speaker:

Prof. Sashi Kunnath is an AIT alumnus, currently serving as Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of California at Davis (UCD). He previously served as Department Chair from 2009 – 2015. He received his undergraduate degree from Bangalore University, India, his Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), and his PhD at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York.

Introduction REDD+ scheme is a result-based scheme offering financial compensation to developing countries for reduced emissions from deforestation and forest degradation PLUS conservation, sustainable management of forests, and enhancement of forest carbon stocks.
