The Asian Association for Agricultural Engineering (AAAE) is organizing its International Agricultural Engineering Conference (IAEC) – 2007 to be held from December 3-6, 2007 at AIT.

The conference objectives are:

To strengthen the profession of agricultural engineering by promoting information exchange, improving communications, minimizing duplication of activities, and optimizing use of resources.

12 September: Yoga Classes

12 September: Yoga
Yoga classes will be held every Wednesday, starting Wednesday 12 September, at the Language Center, Room 236, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The type of yoga featured is called Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. It consists of exercises or postures (asanas) with specialized breathing (pranayama), hand and finger gestures (mudras), body locks (bhandas), chanting (mantras) and meditations, together or in sequence to create exact, specific effects.

28-30 August: Forum and Hands-on Training on SAP2000 and ETABS

The Asian Center for Engineering Computations and Software (ACECOMS) is organizing a "Forum and Hands-on Training on SAP2000 and ETABS" from 28 to 30 August 2007 at AIT. (For further details, please visit the ACECOMS website)

 

This is the first time that such as event is being organized in which the engineers who use this software can share their experiences as well as get direct advice and solutions on their analyses and design projects.

07 September: US Embassy representatives to address human rights

One of the most fundamental concepts underpinning policy decisions at the national and international levels today is human rights. It is therefore important to understand how this concept is interpreted and applied by various governments. To initiate a dialogue on this issue, on Friday, 7 September 2007, Mr. Guy Margalith, Human Rights Officer, and Ms. Jessica Adler, Deputy Refugee Coordinator, from the US Embassy in Bangkok will come to AIT to speak on "Human Rights and the Refugee Situation in Thailand". The talk will be held in the Milton E. Bender, Jr. Auditorium starting at 1:30 p.m.
