28 May: AIT alumni brainstorming meeting

In order to attract more alumni, the AIT alumni brainstorming meeting has been rescheduled from 26 April 2007 to 28 May 2007 (from 09:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon), prior to the AIT Board of Trustees meeting to be held in the afternoon of the same day.

 

The agenda of the meeting is an open discussion on AIT alumni's roles and participation in the Golden Jubilee Fundraising Campaign 2007-2009. Based on the outcomes of this meeting, AIT will be organizing an "Alumni Home-Coming Seminar" in 2007.

 

AIT Alumni are asked to please confirm their participation by sending their name, position, and year of graduation to Mr. Kyaw Soe Hlaing, Alumni Relations Coordinator at aru@ait.

The School of Management is going to organize a seminar on 'A Preview of the Economics of Knowledge' on Thursday, 10 May 2007, 11:00 a.m. in Room 108.

The speaker will be Professor Martin J. Beckmann, emeritus professor of Economic, Brown University in Providence, RI, USA and emeritus professor of Applied Mathematics, Technical University of Munich, Germany.

A seminar on "A Comparative study of Water Resources Management in Georgetown, Malaysia and Pattaya, Thailand with Emphasis on Households, Hotels and Gender" by Prof. Ngai Weng Chan, a Visiting Professor, Urban Environmental Management, School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) will be held on Wednesday, 25 April 2007, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at room S101, SERD building.

The Coastal Institute Asia is an intensive three-week program for coastal resources management professional. The program will be offered at AIT from 23 July to 10 August 2007, by the Coastal Resources Center (CRC) at the University of Rhode Island and AIT.
