Lecture focuses on grid computing
Thai National Grid Center and AIT are presenting the 3rd Distinguished Lecture on Grid Computing Technology on 'Parallelization of Branch and Bound Algorithm with the Hierarchical Master-Worker Paradigm on the Grid.' The lecture will be conducted by Dr. Kento Aida, Department of Information Processing, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. 18 July 2006 at the AIT Conference Center.
SSSU and Clinic hold lifeguard drill
The Safety, Security and Sports Unit (SSSU), in collaboration with the AIT Clinic, will hold a lifeguard drill on 12 July at 1–2 p.m. The objective of this drill is to review and practice the techniques for immediate and coordinated response between the lifeguard and the AIT Clinic when accidents occur in the swimming pool.
Food, bio process technology conference planned for December 2006
The Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technology field of study, School of Environment, Resources and Development, is organizing an International Conference on Innovations in Food and Bio Process Technology from 12 to 14 December 2006.
With the growing economy, domestic and international demands for high quantity and quality foods in the Asia-Pacific region are increasing, leading to a rapid growth in food processing industries.

Video lectures deal with wastewater management
Prof. Chongrak Polprasert of the Environmental Engineering and Management field of study, School of Environment, Resources and Development, will present two video lectures to graduates students of the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in The Netherlands.
Grounds maintenance schedule announced
The grounds maintenance unit will conduct grounds cleaning across the campus on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If there is an emergency due to heavy rains or storms the cleaning will be done immediately to ensure prompt removal of the fallen litter.
Students offered free opera tickets
Maestro Somtow Sucharitkul and the Bangkok Opera recently offered the AIT Student Union 100 tickets free for AIT students, recent alumni and their families for Mozart's 'Cosi Fan Tutte.'
The performance will be on Sunday June 25. Visit the AIT Student Union office until lunchtime on Friday for seat and transportation reservations.

The Sponsored and Contracted Projects Office plans to provide better services to project investigators and project research staff by working toward one-stop service.
Prof. Sudip Rakshit, vice president for research, invites SCPO staff members, project staff and concerned staff in the office of Finance as well as project investigators' staff to discuss and suggest ways in which this can be done at a meeting to be held from 1 to 3:00 p.m. on 14 June 2006 in the Board Room.
