(IWC019833), candidate for the degree of Doctor of Engineering in Water Engineering and Management (WEM), School of Engineering and Technology will have his final examination on Thursday, 8 June 2006, from 9 to 11 a.m. in Room WR209 (WEM Meeting Room).

His dissertation's title is 'An Integrated Approach to Real-Time Optimal Operation of an Irrigation Water System: A Case Study for Nam Oon Irrigation Project, Thailand.

AIT hosts pollutants workshop

Interested persons are invited to participate in a workshop on persistant organic pollutants at the Asian Institute of Technology's campus in Pathumthani. The 'Workshop on the Asian Research Programme on Persistent Organic Pollutants' takes place from 31 May to 1 June 2006 at AIT Conference Center, Room B 108.

Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) are long-lived chemicals that cycle between the different environmental compartments and are capable of traveling long distances, thus becoming ubiquitous global pollutants.

AIT staff buses pick up 15 minutes earlier on 24 May

In view of the 105th Graduation Ceremony on 24 May 2006 in the Thailand Science Park Convention Center wherein the 7 AIT buses will be used as transportation by the graduands, guests, faculty and staff, please be informed that the morning pickup in the respective starting points of the buses will be moved 15 minutes earlier to assure that the buses will arrive in AIT at 7:15 a.m.

From 7:15 to 7:45 a.m., graduands, guests, faculty and staff will board the buses going to the Thailand Science Park Convention Center to attend the graduation ceremony.

The 12th Asia Pacific Management Conference (APMC –2006), organized by the School of Management in collaboration with the National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan), will be held at AIT 17 to 19 November 2006. The conference aims to provide a forum for academics and professionals to share experiences and knowledge for managing competitiveness in the knowledge economy.

EU-Thai application deadline postponed

EU-Thai application deadline postponed

An open call for proposals 2006 of the Corrigendum to the European Union -Thailand Economic Co-operation Small Projects Facility has postponed the deadline for grant applications to 4 p.m. Wednesday, 14 June 2006.

Any application received after the deadline will automatically be rejected even if the postmark indicates a date preceding the deadline or if the delay is due to the private courier service.
