Prof. Young-Shik Chung, a Korean national, was appointed as Visiting Faculty in the Structural Engineering and Construction Program on 5 January 2000, for a period of four months. He will support SCE faculty in teaching and in the supervision of student research in the structural engineering and construction areas. Seconded by the Rotary International, Prof. Chung is currently on leave as Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Ulsan.

Previous to this position, Prof. Chung served as Dean of the University's graduate school (1985 -1986), Dean of the Engineering College (1986-1987), Dean of the Graduate School of Industrial Studies (1989-1993), and again Dean of the Graduate School (1995-1997). In the private sector, Prof. Chung was previously connected with Tong-hae Electric Power Development Co., Ltd.; the Korea Tungsten Mining Co. Ltd. and the Korea Air Force as 1st Lieutenant responsible for civil engineering works at air bases. Prof. Chung is teaching Quality Management. He is in Room E230. Tel. 524 6584. Dr. Ole Mark joined the School of Civil Engineering as Associate Professor in the Water Engineering and Management Program, under a secondment from the Danish International Development Assistance (DANIDA). He will be involved in teaching and research in the interdisciplinary area of specialization 'Modeling Tools in Environmental and Resource Management (MTERM)'.

A Danish national, Dr. Mark was previously the Product Manager for the Urban Drainage Model 'MOUSE' of the Danish Hydraulic Institute. He was involved in modeling activities for the Prague Master Plan, the modeling of urban flooding for the city of Dhaka, Bangladesh, among other projects. He has carried out many MIKE 11 projects and was part of the MIKE 11 Development Team. Dr. Mark completed his Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (1989) and Doctoral degree from the Aalborg University (1995). He is in Room WR109. Tel: 524 5564.
