Faculty Welcome

The Industrial Systems Engineering Program is pleased to welcome three Visiting Faculty Members: Prof. G. Belforte, Prof. H. Maier, and Dr. E. Fozzy Moritz. The three joined the Program in the January 2000 term.

Prof. G. Belforte is seconded under a faculty exchange program with Politecnico di Torino, Italy, where he is currently an Associate Professor of Automatic Control. Prof. Belforte has authored more than 70 papers in this field, and is well known for his contributions in such research areas as Identification, Modelling and Control. He will teach course AT07.22 - Robust and Adaptive Control. Prof. Belforte is in Room 118, Chalerm Prakiat Building. Tel. ext. 6102.

Prof. H. Maier is supported by Siemens AG, Germany. He is currently a Professor in the Dept. of Electrical Engineering at Fachhochschule, Augsburg, Germany, and is an expert in Automation. He has authored many papers in this field and is well known for his contributions in such research areas as Simulation Systems for Education and Control. Prof. Maier is working on building long-term collaboration program between AIT and Fachhochschule, Augsburg, for faculty exchange. He will teach course AT04.23 - Computer Control of Manufacturing Systems II. Prof. Maier is in room 221, Chalerm Prakiat Building, tel. ext. 5682.

Dr. E. Fozzy Moritz, a GTZ secondee, is an expert in product development, focusing on differences in the development process among different cultures (Europe, America, Japan). Dr. Moritz will teach course AT04.24 - Product Development. He is in room 210, Chalerm Prakiat Building, tel. ext. 5678.
