AIT to collaborate with the Open University of Sri Lanka

A Memorandum of Understanding signed with AIT will enable selected faculty from the Open University of Sri Lanka to attend the Institute's Master's or 'split' Ph.D. programs. Funding will be provided by the Asian Development Bank through its Science and Technology Personnel Development Project for Sri Lankan Universities/Research Institutions. The MoU came about as a result of a promotional trip undertaken by Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, AIT President, to Sri Lanka in January 2000 and a follow-up meeting between Prof. N. R. Arthenayake, Vice-Chancellor of the Open University of Sri Lanka, and Mr. Sanjeeb Jayasinghe of AIT.
