Third International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC'00)

The Telecommunications Program in the School of Advanced Technologies, together with the Yokosuka Research Park (YRP) R&D; Committee (Japan) and the Communications Research Laboratory (CRL) of the Japanese Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, are organizing the Third International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC'00) to be held on 12-15 November at the Imperial Queen's Park Hotel, Bangkok.

A Fulbright Symposium, 'Roles of Environmental Education in the Third Millennium', will be held on Wednesday, 15 November in observance of International Education Week and the 50th anniversary of Fulbright.

AIT is holding an Industry Fair on Thursday, 23 November. The fair will feature booths and exhibitions by business and industrial companies, government organizations and other entities.

Senior Official from the Vietnamese Government meets AIT President

Mrs. Truong Thi Dac, a senior official of the International
Relations Department, the Government of Vietnam, made a courtesy call on
AIT President, Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, on 27 October.

AIT-Miller Freeman MoU Signing

On 27 October, AIT and Miller Freeman (Thailand) signed a Memorandum
of Understanding on the promotion of technologies and Internet package for SMEs
by co-organizing training courses, seminars, conferences and symposia.

Visit of Wuhan Univesity delegation

A delegation from Wuhan University, PRC, led by
Prof. Jingnan Liu, Vice President, visited AIT on 24 October.
The party included Prof. Song bo Zhang, Deputy Director
of the National Key Lab. of Information Engineering for Surveying, Mapping

Final Doctoral Examination Schedules

Wednesday, 1 November from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in room
S101(SERD Meeting Room). Mr. Muhammad Khurshid (ARD987313),
a candidate for the degree of Doctor of Technical Science in the
Natural Resources Management Program and the Rural Development,
Gender and Resources Program, will present his dissertation entitled,
'Sustainable Forest Management Dynamics of the Siran Watershed
in the Western Himalayas Region of Pakistan: A Forest Resource
Policy Perspective.
