for the degree of Doctor of Technical Science in the Field of
Natural Resources Management (NRM), Rural Development, Gender and
Resources (RDGR) Program will present his dissertation entitled 'Sustainable Forest
Management Dynamics of the Siran Watershed in the Western Himalayas Region
of Pakistan: A Forest Resource Policy Perspective.

The School of Civil Engineeering welcomes Dr. Kim Kidu a seconded faculty member from Korea. Dr. Kim assumed his appointment as
Associate Professor last week. His secondment is supported by a Korean public company.

Dr. Kim obtained his Master's degree in Structural Engineering and
Construction in 1987 and Ph.D. from the Imperial College of Science,
London in 1992. His area of interest is computational mechanics.

AP*Retreat meeting

The Internetworking Research Laboratory and the Thailand Network
Information Center (THNIC) hosted an AP*Retreat meeting during 20-22
October, 2000 at AIT. The meeting was attended by 25 leaders from
various leading Internet organizations around the Asia-Pacific region
such as the Asia-Pacific Networking Group, Asia-Pacific Advanced
Network, Asia-Pacific Internet Asscociation and Asia-Pacific Top Level
Domain Names.
