AIT FAIR &
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

On behalf of the Asian Institute of Technology, the AIT Student Union invites all AITians to the AIT Fair & International Women's Day on Friday, 8 March 2002 in front of AIT Conference Center (AITCC).

The variety of fun and awareness-raising activities will start at 8:30 a.m in front of AITCC with the Walk for Gender Equality around AIT campus. After the walk, AIT President Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, will deliver an address and present the banners created by AIT students in connection between sustainable development and gender equality to the School Deans. He will also hand over the awards to the winners of the Photo Contest and Chidren's Drawing Contest.

At 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., there will be a panel discussion for women on 'Valuing Ourselves' at room B115., AITCC. AITians will have rare chances to taste several kinds of international cuisines from the food stalls, starting from 11:00 a.m. AITians are likewise invited to an International Food Festival, organized by AIT-International Women's Group to mark its 25 years of celebration and International Women's Day, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in front of the AITCC. Come and enjoy the superb selection of authentic international cuisine.

In the afternoon, the AIT Fair will be officially opened at 1:00 p.m. by AIT President, Prof. Jean-Louis Armand. Handicrafts will be on display and sold at each country stall .
At 2:15-3:00 p.m., students from the AIT Child Center & Playschool will have their performances on stage, followed by fun games and activities. At 4:30-5:30 p.m., Prof. Gothom Arya, Registrar, will introduce Prof. Pensri Phijaisanit, M.D., who will give a talk on 'Gender Equality and Women's Health' at Rm. B.115, AITCC.

Series of fun activities continues in the afternoon with the Football Match between Faculty, Staff & Students. At 4:00 p.m., the community are invited to watch cultural presentations on Thai Traditional Dance; Magic Show; Bharatnatyam Indian Classical Dance by Ms. Yoshiko; Oddissey Indian Classical Dance by Ms. Shibani; and Group Dance by Vietnamese Student Association
