Prof. H. N. Phien and Prof. Chongrak Polprasert Re-appointed Deans
Prof. Huynh Ngoc Phien was re-appointed as Dean of the School of Advanced
Technologies for a second term. This re-appointment was based on the new Asian
Institute of Technology Bye-Laws, now in effect, which states that the Dean of
each School shall be appointed by the President.

Thai Red Cross calls for Donors
Thai Red Cross calls for Donors
The Thai Red Cross Society's bloodmobile is scheduled to obtain blood donation
on Thursday, 30 May, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noontime, at the parking lot in
front of the AIT Conference Center. All AITians are most welcome.
We count on volunteer donors to save lives by giving a part of themselves
through blood donation.

RTG Continues to Offer Doctoral and Master's Degree Fellowships at AIT
The Royal Thai Government continues to offer fellowships during 2002-2003 to qualified Thais to study at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).
Each fellowship, worth US$24,024 for Doctoral and US$12,012 for Master's, will support up to 60% of the overall study costs at AIT, with no obligation or bonding conditions attached.

Dr. Kyoko Kusakabe Re-appointed GDS FoS Coordinator
Dr. Kyoko Kusakabe (left) was reappointed as the Coordinator of the Gender and Development Studies (GDS) Field of Study effective 1 April. The re-appointment which will cover for one year followed the recommendations of the faculty members in the GDS Field of Study, Rural Development, Gender and Resources Program.

AITAA Research Grant for the September 2001 Term.
This grant is supplemental to the available scholarship funds to enable the
recipient(s) to return to their home country to undertake investigation and
data collection.
