1. Dr. Ulrich Glawe, Associate Professor in Engineering and Applied Geology, was educated at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, receiving his Ph.D. in 1992 in Engineering Geology and his Dipl-Ing.

Prof. Vilas M. Salokhe, Coordinator of the Agricultural Systems and Engineering field of study, SERD, has been appointed as President of the Asian Association for Agricultural Engineers (AAAE) for the period 2002-2003. He has served as AAAE Secretary-General since its inception.

YOGA SESSIONS
Didi Sudjata from the Neo Humanistic Foundation will be conducting Yoga classes on Tuesdays, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. in the Korea House. The six-week course (15 January 19 February) will cost 600 baht. Participants who cannot commit for the whole course will be charged Baht 120 per session.

The Computer Science and Information Management (CSIM) Program, School of Advanced Technologies, will be holding a seminar on Wednesday, 16 January 2002, 9:00 a.m. in room 209, CSIM Building.
AIT signs MOU with German university
AIT President, Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Heinrich Kern, Technische Universitaet Ilmenau (ITU) Rektor, and Prof. Dr. Joachim Weyand, ITU Prorektor fur Bildung, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 18 December 2001, to establish a three-year cooperation program in scientific fields, especially advanced technologies, through the exchange of students and academic staff as well as through joint distributed education activities.
Visiting AIT
On 17 December Prof. Yansun Wu (below, right), Director of International Affairs, Chongqing University, PRC, visited AIT to discuss institutional collaboration with AIT. Chongqing University, a key national research university in PRC, is directly under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education.
Team Building Workshop for AIT staff
On 17-19 December, staff members from various AIT offices and units (Admissions and Scholarships; Registry; AIT Conference Center; Dean of Student and Community Affairs; Housing; Physical Plant; Promotional Support Services; Sports, Safety and Security; Student Union) and staff members of SERD, participated in a team building workshop on 'Creativity for AIT with AIG Process' conducted by Mr. Prasarn Marukpitak.
