E-SEMINAR ON 'E-LEARNING OF IT ECONOMICS'
AIT's Distributed Education Center (DEC), on September 27, 2002, organized an E-seminar on 'E-learning of IT Economics' broadcasted from the University of Maryland, U.S.A.
The seminar, hosted by AIT, was attended by speakers from different countries-- Thailand, Japan and U.S.A., and was delivered from Maryland SOI Studio through the high-speed Internet2 with Ipv6 technology to Japan with digital video quality communication. Attendees were from the United States, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar simultaneously. Interaction question & answering with interesting questions were drawn from audiences from Indonesia and AIT.
The seminar was introduced by Prof. Jun Murai, Keio University, who was physically in Japan, and moderated by Dr. Yuzo Kumasaka, President of IT economy Advisors, Inc., physically in the U.S.A.
Nobel Laureate in Economics Prof. Lawrence Klien, the key speaker, spoke on 'The Use of Input-Output Analysis in the Technological Assessment of the Growing Information Use in the Economy.'
Another speaker, Prof. F. Gerard Adams, McDonald Professor of Northeastern University, talked about 'How Can IT Revolutionize Economic Development in East Asia?'
Speaking from AIT were Dr. Kanchana Kanchanasut, Director of DEC, and Dr. Aekavute Sujarae of AIT, coordinators of the seminar.
