Rules for the Use of the Swimming Pool

The
AIT Swimming Pool has excellent sports and recreational facilities. If you're
new to AIT, the swimming pool is behind the AIT Conference Center, next to the
golf course. The pool is only open to members of the AIT community and their
immediate families, and guests at the AITCC hotel; its opening hours are 0600
– 0800 and 1000 – 1830. During these hours, a lifeguard is on duty. Swimming
at night is not allowed, as the pool is not lit, and no lifeguard is on duty.

Swimming pools need to be safe and hygienic, so there are a few rules we ask
you to follow:

1. When you arrive, remember to register with the duty lifeguard
before entering the pool; he may ask to see your ID Card or room key.
2. The lifeguards' job is to control the pool area – they
have the authority to ask someone to leave the pool or to refuse permission
to enter the pool, and are responsible for doing so if these rules are broken.
3. Please remember to shower before entering the pool, even
if you've bathed elsewhere recently.
4. Don't bring food or drinks to the poolside area or into
the pool; smoking is also not allowed in or around the pool.
5. Running and fooling around in or around the pool is a safety
hazard – please refrain from doing so.
6. Spitting is not allowed in the pool area.
7. Non-swimmers must be accompanied by a competent swimmer,
and should stay in the shallow end.
8. Children younger than seven years old cannot use the pool
without adult supervision.
9. Parents are responsible for any children in their care
– children must be watched at all times.
10. Please wear conventional, formal swimming attire – it's
easily available at any department store in Bangkok, including Future Park.
11. There are toilets in the changing rooms if you need them.
12. If you have open wounds or a contagious infection, please
refrain from swimming.
13. The safety equipment is for emergency use only – it's
not there for your amusement.
14. It's your own responsibility to look after your valuables.
Lockers are available in the changing rooms – ask the lifeguard for a key.
