October 30- November 1, 2002: TRADING AND MANAGEMENT IN A LIBERALIZED ELECTRICITY MARKET
A short term training workshop on TRADING AND MANAGEMENT IN A LIBERALIZED ELECTRICITY MARKET will be organized by Electric Power System Management, Asian Technology, Thailand during October 30- November 1, 2002. The main topics covered will be:
- Overview and objectives of electric sector reforms and trading in
Europe - Key issues in the transition into a competitive electricity market
- Competitive market in generation and trading and sales of electricity
- Regulated and monopoly market of electricity network services
- The development of electricity exchanges in Europe
- Portfolio risk management
- Different forms of delivery and contracts
- Experiences from trading and sales in a liberalized European market.
- Nordic electricity market development
- How to trade on Nord Pool
- Transmission aspects in a deregulated electricity market
- Grid Code and Technical Requirements
- Reform of electricity supply industry in Thailand
The registration fee is US$200 (8,000 Baht) per participant. For
attendees from government agencies, state enterprises, or universities,
the registration fee is US$175 (7,000 Baht).
Accommodation can be arranged at AIT Conference Center or hotel near AIT upon request of participant.
The resource persons are industry Swedish experts with experiences from
a competitive market. Hand-on lectures will be emphasized. Recent
studies on electricity supply industry reform in Thailand by Asian
Institute of Technology will also be presented.
