A Video Conference on 'IT Networking for Human Resources Development and Cooperation in ASEAN' on February 20, 2002
Young generation of Myanmar and other ASEAN countries will discuss and share their views at a Video Conference on 'Realtime ASEAN Interaction: IT Networking for Human Resources Development and Cooperation in ASEAN' to be conducted by AIT and University of Computer Studies, Yangon (UCSY), Myanmar, on February 20, 2003.
The Video Conference is part of the ASEAN-Japan Exchange Year 2003, a project initiated by Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi of Japan during his visit to Southeast Asian countries last January. Through the cooperation of the Embassy of Japan in Myanmar, this commemoration program will use SOI-Asia network.
The commemoration program will feature a friendly real-time discussion between young generation of Myanmar and other ASEAN countries to present the world how IT technology can assist in the development of human resources and the creation of a human network, and how it has assisted in forming and consolidating the friendship and trust among neighboring ASEAN nations and Japan. It aims at presenting the contents of ASEAN Networking for Human Resources Development, which means the 'sharing of technologies and ideas in ASEAN region'.
UCSY, where the first academic Internet connection in Myanmar has been made by SOI-Asia, will provide Transmission Station. Prof. Jun Murai, Chairman of SOI-Asia, and Professor of Keio University, Japan, will chair the event.

On the floor Session, 10 students from ASEAN countries and Japan will present their plan or idea on the topic, 'Assuming that the broad band internet connection is available in the future ASEAN, what is your plan to use it for Human Resource Development in your university, your country, or in the region?'
