AIT Community School's Sports Day
Screaming, shouting, cheering and laughter spreaded all over the playing field behind the Administration building on January 24, 2003 at the AIT Community School?s Annual Sports Day 2003. The event aims to educate young pupil through the use of the body and its movement and to develop physical competence. So that students are able to move efficiently and safely, and understand what they are doing.
The Sports Day, opened by the Chief Guest Prof. Gajendra Singh, Dean of AIT Extension, started at 8.30 a.m. with the march past by four color groups followed by the salute, the released balloons, Lighting the Torch and Oath Taking Ceremony.
The morning events included races athletics ? 400m, 200m, 100m, 50m and 30m dashes, the 4x100m relay, the shot putt, and the discus. Also students, staff, and parents enjoyed playing fun games such as ?Picking Ball, ?Planting the Straw?, ?Stamping the Balloon?, ?Leading the Blind?, ?Frog Jump?, ?Three-Legged Race?, ?Filling the Bottle?, ?Bursting the Balloons?, ?Picking the Marbles?, ?Collecting the Peanuts?, and ?Do You Know Each Other.
In the afternoon, the highlight was a Fancy Dress Contest in which students dressed in national costumes or fancy costumes representing fairly tale or popular movie characters like Superman, Spider Man, or Harry Potter.
The event ended with the presentation of medals and prizes to race and games winners by Prof. Gothom Arya, Registrar, and Dr. Chaiyaphol Kaewprakaisaengkul, Director of Physical Plant.
