H.M. King Bhumipol Adulyadej grants Royal Audience
On February 21, 2003, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand granted a Royal Audience to officials from the Royal Project Foundation, led by M.R. Sam Jamjaras Rajani and Dr. Pichai Nimityongskul, with Dr. Pichai's research team from SCE, to present nine patent certificates on vetiver grass development technology to His Majesty the King.
Dr. Pichai also presented to His Majesty the King the progress report on the latest development in vetiver grass technology. The report included three research projects on the construction of low-cost grain storage silos using vetiver grass and clay, the use of vetiver ash as a replacement material for cement, and the use of vetiver pulps as fiber reinforcement. The projects are being conducted by AIT in collaboration with the Royal Project Foundation. The Royal Audience took place at Klaikangwol Palace in Hua Hin.
