AIT proposed the Energy Ministry a project to support human resources development in Energy field

AIT recently discussed with Thailand's Ministry of Energy initiative project to support human resources development in the area of Energy through degree programs for staff of the Ministry and related agencies as well as educational institutions.

During the first ever official visit to AIT of H.E. Mr. Prommin Lertsuridej (above left), in his new capacity as Minister of Energy Ministry accompanied by his delegation on April 4, 2003. Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, AIT President and faculty members of SERD's Energy Field of Study discussed a possible cooperation between the Ministry and AIT on the development of Thailand's human resources on energy.

AIT submitted to the Energy Minister a proposal for scholarships from the Energy Policy and Planning Office, Ministry of Energy, to support officials from the Energy Ministry, the Comptroller-General's Department of the Ministry of Finance, State Enterprises, and faculty members from universities in Thailand to further their studies at AIT's Energy Field of Study. According to the proposal, the support from the Ministry will include 8 Master's scholarships and 2 Doctoral scholarships. The duration of this project will be 6 years, starting in the middle of this year.
