SERD Faculty Receives AES Award

The School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) and AIT community congratulates Dr. Amrit Bart, Associate Professor, Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management (AARM) Field of Study, SERD for receiving the Aquacultural Engineering Society (AES) Honorable Mention Paper Award.

Dr. Bart's paper entitled 'Underwater Ambient Noise Measurements in Aquaculture Systems: A Survey' was adjudjed as one of the two best paper by the AES in the World Aquaculture Society meeting held last February 2003. AES was founded in 1993 and is based in Freshwater Institute, Shepherdstone, West Virginia, USA.

The award is a recognition of Dr. Bart's contribution to aquacultural engineering literature of exceptional merit, for which we are most proud of.

In a related development, Prof. Chongrak Polprasert, SERD Dean, following the recommendations of the faculty members in the Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management Field of Study,
appoints Dr. Amrit Bart as Coordinator of the AARM Field of Study for a period of two years, effective June 1, 2003.

A sincere appreciation is also extended to Dr. Amararatne Yakupitiyage for all the valuable academic contributions he has given to the AARM Field of Study, as Coordinator, during the past year.
