Visiting AIT
On April 9, 2004, Mr. Mitsuhiro Kohno, Principal Deputy Director of the Multilateral Cooperation Division, Economic Cooperation Bureau (MCDECB), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan visited AIT. Mr. Kohno was accompanied by Mr. Atsushi Ozu, First Secretary, Embassy of Japan, Bangkok.
During the visit they met with Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, AIT President; Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, Provost; Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, Dean SCE and Prof. Chongrak Polprasert, Dean SERD.

The visit was aimed to discuss the collaboration between the Govt. of Japan and AIT. Mr. Kohno also had a short campus tour to visit some of the buildings and equipments donated by the Govt. of Japan.

On April 16, 2004, a 24-member delegation from Hue College of Education, Vietnam visited AIT. The delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Le Van Anh, Rector of College of Education, Hue University, Vietnam.

In their familiarization tour of the School of Advanced Technologies they were briefed on Computer Science and Information Management by Prof. Huyn Ngoc Phien, Dean SAT; showed a presentation on teaching and research in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems by Dr. Ho Dinh Duan, Research Specialist I (RS Lab Manager); showed a presentation on Physics-Nanotechnology by Dr. Joydeep Dutta, Associate Professor of Microelectronics
and briefed on Bioprocess Technology by Prof Athapol Noomhorm, Coordinator of Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technology

On April 20-21, 2004, a fact-finding delegation comprised of Mr. Olivier Serrat, Senior Project Economist, Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources Division, Mekong Department, Asian Development Bank and Dr. David Moffat, staff Consultant, Asian Development Bank visited AIT.

During the visit they met with Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, Provost and Dr. Teresita Del Rosario, Visiting Faculty from the Asian Institute of Management. Subsequent meetings with AIT faculty and staff were also held.

The Fact-Finding Mission aims to develop a full specification of the ADB technical assistance to the project on Capacity Building for the Tonle Sap Poverty Reduction Initiative in Cambodia.
