AIT - HIBT, Vietnam sign accord
On May 13, 2004, AIT and the Hanoi Institute of Building Technology (HIBT) signed agreements on exploratory and development cooperation. The formal accord - covering the period of 2004-2006 - will allow HIBT staff to learn more on Land Subsidence Control and Infrastructure Development in Bangkok as well as to develop collaboration activities in training and education with AIT.
The accord was signed by Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, Provost and Mr. Do Xuan Anh, Director, Hanoi Construction Department. The event - held at Room 260 - was witnessed by Mr. Nguyen Sinh Minh, Director of Hanoi Institute Building Technology and attended by Dr. Pham Huy Giao of GTE/SCE, Mr. Tenzin Rabgyal and Ms. Hnin Aye Lwin, Program Officers from the Office of the President.

After the signing ceremony the delegation met with Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, Dean SCE. At SCE, the delegation visited the laboratories and had discussions on land subsidence and on vibration of high-rise buildings and earthquake in Bangkok, studying and training facilities.
