Welcome
The School of Environment, Resources and Development welcomes Dr. Toshiya Aramaki as Visiting Associate Professor in the Environmental Engineering and Management (EEM) Field of Study, seconded by the Government of Japan, for a period of two years starting May 20, 2004.
Dr. Aramaki obtained his B.Eng., M.Eng., and D.Eng. in Urban Engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan in 1991, 1993, and 1996, respectively. Prior to joining AIT, Dr. Aramaki has been an Associate Professor at the Department of Urban Engineering, School of Engineering, University of Tokyo, Japan.
His main areas of research interests include evaluation of water management measures in a city and catchment scale, life cycle impact assessment of solid waste and sewage management, analysis of appropriate sanitation systems, analysis and forecast of future domestic water use, utilization of unused energy and sources in urban area, investigation of optimum urban structure for reduction of CO2 emission, analysis and mitigation of urban heat island problem, etc.
