REBECA FONTANILLA ANDONG
The Chintana Boonthamjinda Memorial Prize
The Chintana Boonthamjinda Memorial Prize is awarded to Mrs. REBECA FONTANILLA ANDONG in recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management.
Mrs. Andong, a Filipino citizen, obtained her B.Sc. degree, major in Fisheries, from University of the Philippines, Diliman, Philippines in 1984. Mrs. Andong was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the field of Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management in January 2003 and completed her M.Sc. degree with a thesis entitled 'A Strategic Management Approach for Project Implementation in Pak Phanang River Basin'. Prior to joining AIT, Mrs. Andong worked as a Technical staff at Local Government Unit-Panay, Philippines.
The Chintana Boonthamjinda Memorial Prize was established in May 1998, with funds from her family, AIT alumni, faculty and staff in memory of Mrs. Chintana, a long-serving, dedicated staff in Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management.
KANCHANA SIRIRANI WICKRAMARACHCHI
The Y.Y. Kishida Prize
The Y.Y. Kishida Prize is awarded to Miss KANCHANA SIRIRANI WICKRAMARACHCHI in recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of Agricultural Systems and Engineering.
Miss Wickramarachchi, a Sri Lankan citizen, obtained her B.Sc. degree, major in Agricultural Engineering, from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2000. Miss Wickramarachchi was admitted to the AIT Master program in the field of Agricultural Systems and Engineering in January 2003 and completed her M.Sc. degree with a thesis entitled 'Exploration of Color Sensitivity of Insects in Pest Management for Tomatoes'.
The Y.Y. Kishida Prize was established in 1992 by Mr. Yoshisuke Kishida, owner of the Shin Norinsha Co., Tokyo, Japan, in memory of his son, Yoshiyuke.

The Yoshiro Takasaki Prize
The Yoshiro Takasaki Prize is awarded to KRITSANA TANGPATIPHAN and TRAN DINH TRUNG in recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of Energy.
Mr. Kritsana, a Thai citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree major in Electrical Engineering, from Thammasat University, Thailand in 2002. Mr. Kritsana was admitted to the AIT Master program in the field of Energy in January 2003 and completed his M.Eng degree with a thesis entitled 'Optimal Power Flow with TCSC Using Parallel Improved Evolutionary Programming'.
Mr. Tran, a Vietnamese citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree, major in Electrical System Engineering, from Hanoi University of Technology, Vietnam in 1993. Mr. Tran was admitted to the AIT Master program in the field of Energy in January 2003 and completed his M.Eng degree with a thesis entitled 'Voltage Stability Assessment: A Case Study of the Vietnam Power System'. Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Tran worked as a Power System Operation at National Load Dispatch Center Electricity of Vietnam.
The Yoshiro Takasaki Prize was established from funds provided in 1999 by Mr. Yoshiro Takasaki, Chairman of Toyo Seikan Kaisha Ltd., Japan, member of the AIT Board of Trustees since 1994.
Md. MOZAMMEL HAQUE
The Alastair M. North Prize
The Alastair M. North Prize is awarded to Mr. MD. MOZAMMEL HAQUE in recognition of the outstanding academic performance in the field of Gender and Development studies.
Mr. Haque, a Bangladeshi citizen, obtained his B.Sc. (Hons.) degree, major in Forestry and Wood Technology from Khulna University, Bangladesh in 1997. Mr. Haque was admitted to the AIT Master program in the field of Gender and Development in January 2003 and completed his M.Sc. degree with a thesis entitled 'Retrenched Male Workers' Sense of Masculinity and Its Implications for Intra-Household Gender Relations: The Case of KNM Bangladesh'. Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Haque worked as a Program Officer at the Muslim AID Bangladesh.
The Alastair M. North Prize was established from funds contributed by Professor Alastair M. North, former President of the Asian Institute of Technology.

The Albert Stevens Prize
The Albert Stevens Prize is awarded to Miss CHITSUKON PUTTANAPICHEAN in recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technology.
Ms. Chitsukon, a Thai citizen, obtained her B.Eng. degree, major in Food Engineering, from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Thailand, in 2002. Ms. Chitsukon was admitted to the AIT Master program in the field of Food Engineering and Management in January 2003 and completed her M.Eng. degree with a thesis entitled 'Viscoelastic Characterization of Quality Changes During Staling of White Bread'.
The Albert Stevens Prize is awarded from funds provided in 1997 by the children of Dr. Albert Stevens, in memory of their father, a Pioneer of Industrial Microbiology in the Netherlands.
ZHANG HONGMIN
The Sukum Navapan Prize
The Sukum Navapan Prize is awarded to ZHANG HONGMIN in recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of Pulp and Paper Technology.
Mrs. Zhang, a Chinese citizen, obtained her B.Eng. degree, major in Chemical Engineering from the Chongqing University, China. in 1996. Mrs. Zhang was admitted to the AIT Master program in the field of Pulp and Paper Technology in December 2001 and completed her M. Eng degree with a thesis entitled 'Adsorption of Cationic Starch on Eucalyptus Pulp Fibers in Closed Water Systems'. Prior to joining AIT, Mrs. Zhang worked as an Editor Director with China Chemicals Journal, China.
The Sukum Navapan Prize is awarded from funds provided in 1993 by Dr. Sukhum Navapan, Chairman of the Navatanee Group of Companies, member of the AIT Board of Trustees since 1992.
GOVIND BAHADUR SHRESTHA
The Tim Kendall Memorial Prize
The Tim Kendall Memorial Prize is awarded to GOVIND BAHADUR SHRESTHA in recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of Natural Resources Management.
Mr. Shrestha, a Nepali citizen, obtained his B.Sc. degree, major in Forestry from Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 1988. Mr. Shrestha was admitted to the AIT Master program in the field of Natural Resources Management in January 2003 and completed his M.Sc. degree with a thesis entitled 'Assessment of Local Conflict Resolution Practices in Community Forest User Groups: A Case Study of Dhankuta District, Middle Hills of Nepal'. Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Shrestha worked as a Regional Training Officer at Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation, Pokhara, Nepal.
The Tim Kendall Memorial Prize was established in 1981 from funds provided by the United Kingdom AIT Appeal, in memory of Mr. R.M. (Tim) Kendall, member of the Board of Trustees from 1971 to 1981.
BHIM NATH ACHARYA
The James A. Linen III Memorial Prize
The James A. Linen III Memorial Prize is awarded to BHIM NATH ACHARYA in recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of Regional and Rural Development Planning.
Mr. Acharya, a Nepali citizen, obtained his B.Sc. degree, major in Agriculture from the Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 1994. Mr. Acharya was admitted to the AIT Master program in the field of Regional and Rural Development Planning in January 2003 and completed his M.Sc. degree with a thesis entitled 'Market Analysis of Major Products from Community Managed Forests: A Study from the Foothill Watersheds of Nepal'. Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Acharya worked as an Assistant Planning Officer with Agricultural Research and Extension Project, Lalitpur, Nepal.
The James A. Linen III Memorial Prize was established in 1988 in memory of Mr. Jim Linen, a charter founding member and life member of the Board of Trustees.

The John A. Hrones Prize
The John A. Hrones Prize is awarded to IMRAN UL HAQ and PHAM DUC HOANG in recognition of the outstanding academic performance in the field of Urban Environmental Management.
Mr. Ul Haq, a Pakistani citizen, obtained his B.Sc. degree, major in Civil Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan in 2000. Mr. Ul Haq was admitted to the AIT Master Degree program in the field of Urban Environmental Management in January 2003 and completed his M.Sc. degree with a thesis entitled 'Composting as a Municipal Waste Recycling and Reuse Strategy: An Economic Analysis of the Lahore Case'. Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Ul Haq worked as an Engineer with National Engineering Services Pakistan Limited, (NESPAK).
Mr. Pham, a Vietnamese citizen, obtained his B.Econ. degree, major in Environmental Economics and Management from Hanoi National Economics University, Vietnam in 2000. Mr. Pham was admitted to the AIT Master Degree program in the field of Urban Environmental Management in January 2003 and completed his M.Sc. degree with a thesis entitled 'Promoting Mass Transit for Improving Urban Environmental Management: A Focus on Pricing and Financing of Bus Service in Hanoi City, Vietnam'. Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Pham worked as an Environmental Engineer at Research Institute for Transportation Science and Technology, Hanoi, Vietnam.
The John A. Hrones Prize is awarded from funds provided in 1996 by the AIT Foundation Inc., U.S.A., in honor of the late Dr. Hrones, who served as a member of the AIT Board of Trustees from 1968 to 1998.
NGUYEN PHAM HONG LIEN
The Robert B. Banks Prize
The Robert B. Banks Prize is awarded to Miss NGUYEN PHAM HONG LIEN in recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of Environmental Engineering and Management.
Miss Nguyen, a Vietnamese citizen, obtained her B.Eng. degree, major in Environmental Engineering from Hanoi University of Technology, Vietnam in 2002. Miss Nguyen was admitted to the AIT Master Program in the field of Environmental Engineering and Management in January 2003, and completed her M.Eng degree with a thesis entitled 'Dry Anaerobic Digestion of Municipal Solid Waste as Pre-Treatment Prior to Landfill'.
The Robert B. Banks Prize named after Professor Robert Banks, one of the Institute's former Presidents, was awarded for the first time in 1994 from funds generated by the continuing education and consultancy activities in Geotechnical Engineering of Professor A.S. Balasubramaniam and his colleagues.
MR. AHMED SAIFUL ISLAM
The Wilhelm Prize
The Wilhelm Hill Prize is awarded to Mr. AHMED SAIFUL ISLAM in recognition of the outstanding academic performance in among MBA students in the School of Management.
Mr. Islam, a Bangladeshi citizen, obtained his B.B.A. degree from Institute of Business Administration, Bangladesh in 1999. Mr. Islam was admitted to the AIT Master Degree program in the field of International Business in September 2002 and completed his M.B.A. degree with a research study entitled 'Corporate Cash Management Requirements and Commercial Bank's Solutions'. Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Islam worked as a Management Associate at Citibank NA Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The Wilhelm Hill Prize was established in 1996 from funds contributed by Professor Wilhelm Hill, Head of the Strategic Studies Research and Publishing Unit, University of Basel, Switzerland, and a member of the AIT Board of Trustees from 1993 to 1999.
