New SERD graduate receives ITTO Research Fellowship
Mr. Bhoj Raj Khanal (left), newly graduate student of Rural and Regional Development Planning with Specialization of Integrated Watershed Development and Management recently received the Freezailah Fellowship Research Fund (International Tropical Timber Organization Research Fellowship) for Research from Japan in July 2004.
International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) is working in the field of forest product marketing around the world. It is supporting in the field of economic information and market intelligence of forest products, short-term training courses, technical document preparation, publication and participation in conference and seminars in its member countries.
Mr. Khanal's research topic is Institutionalizing the Users Group of Community Forestry in the Marketing of forest products in inner Terai of Nepal. The research will explore the recommend the policy and institutional aspects of marketing to institutionalize the users' group for marketing of forest products in Nepal.
The duration of study for about seven months (September 2004 to March 2005) will involve collection of data and information in Nepal and processing and report preparation will be done at AIT during the research period. The research paper will be prepared with the guidance from Associate Professor of RRDP Dr. Gopal Bahadur Thapa.
