AIT, Tongji University sign accord

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Tongji University, China PR sign accord on exchange of information, student and faculty exchange, and joint projects at a ceremony held at AIT on 17 November 2004.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, Provost and Professor Wan Gang, President, Tongji University. The event was also attended Prof. Gajendra Singh, Dean, AIT Extension; Prof. Sivanappan Kumar, Energy FoS, Faculty, SERD; Dr. Xiaoyong Chen, RS & GIS FoS Coordinator, SAT; Dr. Yang Yi, Associate Professor, AARM FoS, SERD; and Mr. Karma Rana, Institute Secretary.

The MoU will focus on the collaboration between the two institutions in the areas of joint efforts to address the issues relating to sustainable development which will be undertaken through exchange of information, student and faculty exchange, and joint projects.

Tongji University, a Shanghai-based institution was established in 1907 and has a current
enrollment of over 50,000 students. The university is one of the oldest and largest university in China PR.
