Visiting AIT
On 07 April 2005, a delegation from the Peking University Resource College (above) visited AIT. The delegation was led by Professor Cao Qing-Yang, President, Peking University Resource College. He was accompanied by 2 vice-presidents: Associate Professor Zhou Hong-Wei and Ms. Li Jun, together with Professor Zhou Nanzhao, advisor to the President.
During the visit, Mr. Cao Qing-Yang met with Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, AIT Acting President and Provost; Dr. Preeda Parkpian, EEM Coordinator; Dr. Xiayong Chen, RS&GIS; Coordinator; Dr. Yang Yi, AARM faculty; Khun Wannapa Pliansri, RTG Relations Coordinator and Mr. Tenzin Rabgyal, Program Officer.
The visit was aimed to explore and discuss possible cooperation between AIT and PURC.
On 19 April 2005, a delegation (above) from the Judicial and Legal Training Institute Office of the Prime Minister, Malaysia visited AIT. The delegation was comprised of Y. Bhg. Dato Haji Jalaldin Bin Haji Hussain, Director-General Ilkap; Rozi Bainon, Principal Assistant Director Civil Litigation Programme; Ratna Sari Ayu Osman, Librarian; Fariz Rizal Rasdi, Information Systems Officer; Y. M. Raja Abdul Aziz Raja Ailan, Graphic Designer; and Mohd. Akhir Muhammad, Technical Assistant.
The delegation met with Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, Acting President and Provost for a courtesy call. During the visit the delegation held a meeting, Dr. Jayant K. Routray, Associate Professor/ SERD; Mr. Benjamin A. Gargabite, Director of Admissions and Scholarships; Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Director of Promotions; Mr. Ng Eng Wan, Chief Financial Officer; Ms. Niramol Ponvilai, Administrative Officer, AIT Extension; Mr. Tanuj Kumar Halder, Program Officer, AIT Extension; Mr. Tenzin Rabgyal and Ms. Hnin Aye Lwin, Program Officers, Office of the President.

On 21 April 2005, H.E. Mr. Vivek Katju, Ambassador of India to Thailand visited AIT and met with Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, Acting President and Provost; Prof. Chongrak Polprasert, Dean SERD; Dr. Nazrul Islam, Acting Dean, SOM; Dr. Nitin Kumar Tripathi, AIT Coordinator for Indian Government Support; Mr. Karma Rana, Institute Secretary; Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Director of Promotion Activities; Ms. Kulvimol Wasuntiwongse, Secretary to the Board and Mr. Tenzin Rabgyal, Program Officer, Office of the President.
The visit also called to strengthen the collaboration between AIT and the Government of India. Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, Acting President and Provost presented the Institute's academic offerings and activities, research facilities and relevant developments to H. E. Mr. Vivek Katju.
H.E. Mr. Vivek Katju and Mr. Rajiv Kumar also met with Indian faculty, senior staff members and students and discussed the various possibilities of enhancing the Indian Government support to AIT.
H.E. Katju also visited the Remote Sensing & Geographic Information Systems field of study, Bioprocess Technology Laboratory, Microelectronics Laboratory, Nanotechnology Laboratory and the Library.
