SERD, SCE holds Appreciation Day
Faculty, students, and staff members of the School of Environment, Resources and
Development (SERD) and the School of Civil Engineering (SCE), and invited guests
gathered to congratulate its faculty members who were promoted and expressed their appreciation to retiring faculty and staff members at the SERD/SCE Appreciation Day dinner held on 22 April 2005.
The event, presided over by Acting President, Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, also included the presentations of Teaching Awards 2005, Laboratory Awards 2005, and Most Appreciated Student Awards 2005. The event was organized by Prof. Chongrak Polprasert, Dean SERD and Acting Dean of SCE.
After the dinner, Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, AIT Acting President and Provost congratulated with flowers to Dr. Kyoko Kusakabe, GDS, SERD who was newly promoted to Associate Professor. He then afterwards presented Certificates of Appreciation to Prof. Vinod Kumar Jindal (FEBT, SERD) and Mrs. Pranee Nilpradab (in absentia) of CEIM, SCE, who will retire in December 2005 and have been serving AIT for 29 years and 28 years, respectively.
Certificates of Teaching Awards 2005 were presented to Prof. C. Visvanathan
(EEM, SERD) and Prof. Ashim Das Gupta (WEM, SCE) for Large Class Category; Dr. Soparth Pongquan (RRDP, SERD) and Prof. Stephen O. Ogunlana (CEIM, SCE) for Medium Class Category; and Dr. Rajendra P. Shrestha (NRM, SERD), Dr. Esa Kalevi Lehtinen (PPT, SERD), and Dr. Sutat Weesakul (WEM, SCE) for Small Class Category.
The Laboratory Awards 2005 were also presented to Environmental Engineering
Laboratory, SERD, and Irrigation Engineering and Management Laboratory, SCE.
SERD students Yada Lekudomsak of FEBT and Abu Sadat Moniruzzaman Khan of NRM were presented Most Appreciated Student Awards 2005. The same Awards also were presented to SCE students Shamar-Ur-Rehman Toor of CEIM and Muhammad Uzair of WEM.
