AIT Establishes Cooperation Program with Shivaji University
On 6 July 2005, AIT and Shivaji University (SU), Kolhapur, India, established a cooperation program to develop human resource and build institutional capacity through a Memorandum of Understanding signed by Prof. Said Irandoust (third from right), AIT President, and Prof. M. The five-year cooperation program will provide a higher education opportunities for staff members of SU, promote institutional linkage between SU and AIT, and to explore other avenues for possible collaboration.
The program includes Collaborative Research Programs; Student Exchange Programs; Faculty Exchange Programs; and other forms of cooperation. According to the cooperation, AIT and SU will jointly identify specific fields to conduct collaborative research programs of mutual interest and beneficial to both institutions. SU faculty and students will further join the exchange programs. AIT and SU will share the information on each other's programs and activities as well.
Shivaji University, established in 1962, has about 200,000 students studying in 194 affiliated colleges and recognized institutes. SU offers study programs in 10 major faculties of Arts & Fine Arts, Societal Science, Science, Commerce, Education, Law, Medicine, Ayurvedic Homeopathy Education, Engineering and Technology.
