The School of Environment, Resources and Development welcomes Dr. Binod B. Sandwar, from India as Visiting Lecturer in the Environmental Engineering and Management Field of Study.

Dr. Sandwar (right) received his Ph.D (Chemistry) from the L.N. Mithila University, Darbhanga in 1997, and has served as Reader in Chemistry, Samastipur College, Samastipur (Bihar), India, since 1983. He also worked for nearly three years as In-charge of the Central Laboratory, Bihar State Pollution Control Board, Patna (Bihar), India.

Dr. Sandwar's main areas of research include: environmental & analytical chemistry; hazardous waste management; natural resources management, heavy metals pollution of natural water/rivers, and selected topics in physical chemistry, viz. chemical kinetics, equilibrium, thermodynamics, electrochemistry & spectroscopy, especially for teaching up to P.G. standard.

The School of Advanced Technologies welcomes Prof. Umesh Chandra Ray, Visiting Professor in Industrial Engineering and Management; Prof. Nukala S. Murthy, Visiting Professor in Microelectronics; and Prof. Sandeep Sancheti, Visiting Professor in Telecommunications. They are seconded by the Government of India this August 2005 semester.


Prof. Umesh Chandra Ray (left), currently a Professor and Head, Production Engineering & Management Dept., National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur, India. He obtained his Ph.D. in 1991, at IIT Kharagpur, India. His areas of research include Computer Applications to Industrial Engineering Problems. While at ISE/AIT, Prof. Ray will teach a course AT72.04 - Engineering Economy for IE&M; field. Prof. Nukala S. Murthy (right), currently a Professor and Head, Electronics and Communication Engineering Dept., NIT, Warangal, India. He obtained his Ph.D. in 1999, NIT, Warangal, India. His areas of research interest include Low Power VLSI Architectures for DSP Applications; ASIP Implementations and Device Modeling; Application of Cumulants and HOSA. During his stay at AIT, Prof. Murthy will teach two courses, AT75.02 - Digital Integrated Circuit Design, and AT75.06 - VLSI Design for Microelectronics fields. Prof. Sandeep Sancheti (left), currently Dean of Academic and Professor in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, India. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in High Frequency Electronics from Queen's University of Belfast, U.K. His areas of research interest include Higher Frequency Electronics; Microwave and RF Circuits; Semiconductor Device. During his appointment, Prof. Sancheti will be teaching course AT77.9004 Selected Topic: Interactive Transmission over IP Networks.
